MEDXPRESS V2 LAUNCHED AS LATEST DICOM TOOLKIT BY PEGASUS IMAGING

TAMPA, FL, November 30, 2003 - Pegasus Imaging Corporation, the leader in digital imaging technology, is introducing version 2 of its DICOM software development toolkit, MedXpress. Medical imaging application developers can use MedXpress, a powerful and easy to use ActiveX/COM component, to access more DICOM functionality with less programming code. The inclusion of ImagXpress also provides advanced document imaging features.

MedXpress offers a new, object model based API. New features include support for DICOM associations (networking), enhanced DICOMDIR support, and improved DICOM message, file, and item manipulation. MedXpress also includes ImagXpress, which allows developers to add image capture, viewing, editing, printing, annotation, conversion and TWAIN scanning to applications. Sequential JPEG color and up to 12bpp grayscale image compression and decompression is included within the toolkit. Lossless JPEG, JPEG2000, and JPEG-LS for color and up to 16bpp grayscale compression and decompression are available as add on's to MedXpress.

"MedXpress expands our offerings to include DICOM in application development, adding to the exceptional image compression technologies and support that Pegasus is known for in the medical imaging industry," says Will Clonts, Medical Business Development Manager at Pegasus Imaging.
